Whenever I save a word doc it reopens in word pad, help! Does this have to
do with a setting on my computer?

Windows has lost track of the association between the .doc extension and the
Word executable. Since WordPad has always been able to read .doc files (if
not very well), it gets them instead.

procedure to restore the association.
