I had Word on my Dell original system which had Office Basic. My files are
saved mostly on a flash drive and I don't know how to convert them to word
2007

I put them in the Documents folder and they did land there, however they
also created duplicates in another folder I had also.

Than you,

What version of Word was on the original system?

Hi Carmen

To convert the documents, just open and Save As to turn them into 2007. If
there are too many to do this manually you may be able to find a converting
application on the net.

As for duplicates... did you move or copy from the flash drive into My
documents? If you just dragged them you probably created a copy, in which
case you can remove the flash drive originals.

You don't need to "convert" them. Word 2007 will open, edit and save, Word
documents created by prior versions....
