Microsoft Works Suites - unable to load Word

I have Windows XP and purchased Microsoft Works Suite for the Word program.
I followed instructions and started with disc #1 which contains Word, it
appeared to load correctly and installed the next 4 discs. Word did load and
now when I put the #1 disc in, it won't even open to load. I tried rebooting
and that didn't work. Could possibly be a bad disc? Any suggestions - I went
thru all the comments regarding the Work Suites but no one had this problem.

Thsi newsgroup is dedicate dto Micrososft project problems.
There must be a newsgroup dedicated to Word where people will be more fit to
help you.

Generally installation from the distribution disks is a one-shot deal. Once
it's installed you put the disks away in a safe place in case you need to
re-install but you run the programs from the Start menu found on the button
in the lower left-hand corner of the screen. Did you look in "All Programs"
and see if Works or Work is listed there?
