Migrate Contacts from Windows Vista back to Outlook 2003

After months of having problems with Windows Vista Home Premium I
decided to go back to XP Pro. My laptop is running much better, much
faster and virtually problem free, The one thing that I have not been
able to do is
to bring my contacts (186) back from Windows Contacts in Vista to
Outlook in XP Pro. If anyone knows how,
please help !!!!!

Presumably you formatted the HDD and re-installed XP. This may be a silly
question, but did you make a backup of your Windows mail before you did so?

Yes I did a complete backup before going back to XP. I found the files
in the backup but
they are wordpad files, I assume *.text files and I don't know what to
do to get them back to Outlook
