I'm the IT director for a college that currently uses Google Workspace for email and collaboration. While Google Workspace has worked for us, Gmail is generally disliked by most of our staff, and we've found the administrative and management capabilities to be somewhat limiting for our requirements.
We're now planning to move our email infrastructure to Microsoft 365, but I'm concerned about the complexity of migrating hundreds of user mailboxes while minimizing downtime and avoiding data loss. Has anyone here completed a Google Workspace to Microsoft 365 migration recently? If so, what migration strategy did you use, and how did you handle DNS cutover, mailbox synchronization, and user onboarding?
During my research, I came across a few migration solutions, including the Aryson Google Workspace to Office 365 Migration Tool, which appears to support bulk mailbox migration, incremental migration, and selective data transfer. Has anyone used Google Workspace to Microsoft 365 migration? I'd appreciate any feedback on migration speed, reliability, ease of use, and whether it helped reduce downtime during the transition.
