migrating mdb(s) from Access 97 to Access 2003

I am migrating mdb(s) from Access 97 to Access 2003.
I have never used MS Access before. (I'm PowerBuider developer.)
I understand that I have to install MS Access first (of course!) then
MS Access 03 -> Tools -> Convert database ->Access 2002-2003 file
format.

What else do I need to know and what else do I need to check?
The front end that is working with Access databases developed with
VB6.

You shouldn't have much problem with it. Access is backward compatible, so
your code should all work.

I think it may be better to do the conversion to 2000 format first, then to
2003. I am not sure why, but when 2003 was first installed at one of my
clients, they sent out a memo with upgrade instructions. They recommended
that 97 be first upgraded to 2000 then to 2003 from there. This meant having
a copy of 2000 available, but if you don't just use the 2000 format for the
initial conversion and when that is done and tested, upgrade to 2003.
