uh lots of ODBC doesn't work on x64
lots and lots and lots of them.

I'm not sure that half of the ODBC features work on X64

I really can't believe you had the nerve to say that one.

have you never made an ADP ?
try right click linking fool

PS - there is no other database server than MS SQL Server. Design
your network efficiently.

When you determine what doesn't work, post back and let us know. It would
be helpful to others if you'd file an error report with Microsoft Support,
too.

JET will never be supported on X64 natively. It's a known feature.
It's not a bug-- X64-- the future-- doesn't support JET because JET is
obsolete.

Windows Server 2008 and Windows Vista were supposed to be the last OS
that had a 32 bit version.
Do the math.

Yet another symptom that JET is dead and anyone using it should learn
a real DB.
JET has no place in the world-- except in the history books.

I thought were were talking about Jet, and you don't need ODBC to
connect to a Jet database.

So, you seem to be very confused about what you're talking about
(not that this is surprising).
I'm not sure that half of the ODBC features work on X64

Get back to us when you're sure, and provide URLs that document the
problems. And if you actually want to make your point, provide some
documentation that *Jet* doesn't work -- ODBC is completely
irrelevant.

Until that point, you've demonstrated nothing at all but your
ability to post useless blather (not that we needed any more
evidence of *that*).

god you are such a prick you know that?

ODBC doesn't work for SHIT with X64.
JET doesn't work for SHIT with X64.

It doesn't matter-- it's one and the same.

I haven't seen a production database server in the past 3 years that
was _NOT_ X64.

So yes; it is kindof a big deal that JET doesn't work on X64.

I use ODBC against 64 bit servers with zero problems.

yah well I've had problems. When Microsoft admits that JET will never
have a X64 version-- that was the nail in the coffin.

Windows 2008 wasn't even supposed to have a 32 bit version!

ODBC and Jet are not the same thing, so whether or not ODBC works is
irrelevant.

Does Jet not work on X64? I don't know, since the only person I've
ever heard claim that is *you*, and 99% of your statements are
demonstrably false.

What is the data store for Active Directory on X64 if it's not Jet
(as it is on all 32-bit versions of Windows from Win2K on)?

I'm an end user primarily and I need to know how to configure or export
Access tables and all of its other objects to a MySql Server so it can run
faster. Currently the Access databases are becoming too large and cumbersome
dramatically affecting processing time.

How large is your database in terms of MB and the number of records in
the largest tables? Do you have proper indexes on the tables for the
various searching and filtering fields?

Are there any specific things that have become slow?

Dude Tony

You cannot prevent Jet bloat-- so go and sell your wares elsewhere.
oh.. Oh I noticed that you sell ads on a webpage and thus you need to
disclaim that everywhere you go.

What are you really going to listen to a dipshit canadian?

What a NooB

I read your post too quickly. When I saw "aka Access" I took it differently
than you meant it (to refer to the database engine rather than the DBMS).

Incorrect. Tony is a valuable contributor who has given generously of his
time and talent. Aaron has only one thing to say, which saves him the
effort of attempting to think.
