Migrating MS Project Server 2007 to new box

I am trying to migrate from a single server install of project server running
on SQL 2005 Express as installed by default. I want to migrate to a new box
and change to running SQL Server 2005 Standard Edition. I have performed the
Complete install under Advanced Option. The install completes successfully
and I can successfuly run a new instance of project server (PWA).

I then have tried to backup my old server using the Sharepoint services
backup farm option. I then restore on new box. After a lot of different
attempts I managed to get the restore to complete successfully from start to
finish. There is the new shared service setup, the SQL databases appear to
have restored correctly etc etc. However, whenever I try to access PWA I get
a sharepoint error that says an unexpected error has occurred.

I have errors in event log like:

Event Type: Error
Event Source: Windows SharePoint Services 3
Event Category: Timer
Event ID: 6398

information is included below.

Can anyone help. This is seriously delaying me moving to a new box.

Hi leonard
Restoring is very often much harder than backing up and installing.

Do you want to migrate from a single server to a two server platform or do
you want only to upgrade SQL Express "in place" to SQL 2005 Standard ?
You seem to have avoided the Express upgrade "in place" method to upgrade
SQL Express and prefered a second SQL server instance creation , have you ?
What did you backed up before any move or upgrade?

you need to increase your knowledge of SharePoint/Project integration and
backup/restore on different SQL servers. This requires technical skills and
months of experimentation
