I'm almost ready to have several people start converting mpp files from
Project 2000 to Project 2002 (and save them in Project Server). These are
all mpp files (they have not been using Project Central). There also are no
special code fields and no resources attached to any of these mpp files.
What I'm looking for is an idea of the migrating process. I have a list of
ideas, but I want to confirm that I am not missing anything. Here are my
ideas, please advise:
1. Open file in Project 2002 Pro.
2. Assign resources from resource pool (on Project Server)
3. Update any outline codes (that we have implemented on Project Server)
4. Go to File and Save As (this saves the project on Project Server)
5. Go to Collaborate and Publish to publish the project on the server
(sends out email notifications too)
If there's anything wrong with these, or anything someone wants to add,
please do, I appreciate all the advice I can get.
Thanks
John
