Migrating projects from one MOPS2007 to another one

Hello,

We have a MOPS2007 staging system, our Project Management Group made the
settings and did open a few projects. Now we're planning to deploy separate
MOPS 2007 as a production system and PMG asks if there is a possibility to
copy some projects from one server to another.

So my questions is - will migrating tool for Project Server copy projects
from one MOPS2007 to another MOPS2007? Or perhaps there is another way to
accomplish this task?

Thanks,
-Mykhaylo

Mykhaylo,

You can make a Backup of the SQL databases from the first server, and a
Restore on the second.
If you want to tranfer only a few projects, export the project as a mpp file
from the 1st server : File / Save As... / Save as File. then import the mpp
file in the 2nd server :
In Project Pro:
Tools / Enterprise Options.. / Import project to Enterprise...
Tell us if that works.

Thank you, Gérard. Still one more question - can I open projects that were
not created myself?

I connected to MOPS using Office Project Professionnal, but it didnt allow
me to open projects opened by other people. I have admin rights on both
staging and production systems.

Sorry, that was my fault I didnt realize what account I was logged on. I
re-logged on with admin credentials and could open other projects as well.
Thank you.
