migration of project server 2003 to project server 2007

I have installed sqlserver 2000 and sqlserver 2005 ,sharepoint services 2.0
and projectserver 2003 , projectserver 2007 project professional 2003 and
2007 in the virtual machine . and all of them are working fine.

the problem is that i need to start the migration with the migration tool.
when i run this command .

C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE12>P12MigrationTool.exe -c
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE12\P12Migration.ini


the error is that :

" Error : GetFileAttributesW on Config file failed.
Invalid Config file or Config file not found. "

I dont know why this error is coming. I have confusion only few parameters
in "p12migration.ini" file .


1. log file path= (whether it will make new automatically or i will make
myself)
2. log file name = (what i need to write here )
3. database section .
(what i need to write here)
Project2007SQLServer=Project2007sqlserver

I am little confuse about these parameteres.

if you have any sample live and running projectserver 2007 migration ini
file . the pls send me .

Hi Basim,

1. This is the Log File Path you need to specify a path where the Logfile
will be written. Ex c:\ProjectServer2007Migration

2. This the name for the Logfile that you give. Ex: LogFileNamePrefix=Batch1

3. I think you are refering to the Database. Here you should enter the
Database 'Server Name' or SQL instance for SQL. It is recommended to have the
old projectserver 2003 DB copied onto the same instance of SQL where you plan
to host the new Project Server 2007 DBs.

It is recommended to migrate the enterprise global setting first before the
projects.
You can do this by commenting out the MigrateAll by placing a ; before
MigrateAll and run the migration tool.
Once the global settings have been migrated, you can remove the ; and set
MigrateAll=Save or MigrateAll=Publish

Hello Basim,

This is for the first time i am doing migration of project server 2003 to
project server 2007. I am also facing the same error:

the error is that :

" Error : GetFileAttributesW on Config file failed.
Invalid Config file or Config file not found. "

after i have mentioned all the parameters in the config file. Following
configuration i am using in Epm 2003
Project Server 2003 integrated with SQL Server 2005, wss2.0 with sp2a, MSP
2003 windows server 2003.
In Epm 2007 i used project server 2007, sql server 2005, windows server 2008

can u please help me Basim.
