Milestones linked to summary bar

Hi,
I am having a slight struggle with some of my project managers who are
creating plans.
I don't like seeing Milestones with its predessesor the summary bar to which
it belongs and I know it's considered bad MSP practise. However people
persist in doing this.
What is a good argument I can use to explain this should not be done? Why
shouldn't this be done?

Meljay,
The best argument you can use is that the practice of putting links on
Summary Lines is a good way to either create circular relationships
and/or confusing results (i.e. the schedule doesn't seem to do what is
expected).

Hope this helps.

While I agree with this for mixing lots of links between tasks and summary
tasks for the case of summary tasks linked to milestones I dont see the
big deal. Now if you start seeing links between these milestones and other
detail tasks I would get worried.

Good news, that is impossible to do. When you try it you get the message:
"You cannot link a summary task to one of its subtasks".
