miniature report on HP laser jet

Hello,

I have installed an Access 2003 app in a multi-user environment and on one
particular user's installation, when they try to print a report to their
default printer (which is an hp laser jet 5000 series pcl 5e) the preview
and printed report appears in miniature (about 1/6th or less scale) in the
top left corner of the page.

I have found that when I go into each report in that user's installation and
explicitly choose the their default printer, each of the reports then print
normally. Obviously not very convenient since every time I install an
update I have to reset the printer on all of the reports.

User says that she has never seen this phenomenon occur with any other
applicaiton.

Has anyone else encountered this and if so what's causing the problem. Is
it the OS, Access, or HP?

Many thanks,

Mike

I have seen this behaviour when printing/previewing Snapshots but not
for normal reports. The issue always involves a default Printer for the
system, and the selection of the is printer as a Specific printer but
the two settings have a different resolution selected.

First though, to eliminate the possibility of the Printer Driver beign
to blame, change the user's Default printer driver to an older, plain
generic HP Driver.
Secondly, try changing the Printer Driver's preference setting for Spool
type output. If it is currently set to Metafile then change it to RAW
and vice versa.
