Minimized documents do not appear on taskbar

When I minimize documents in Outlook, Excel, Word etc. they do not appear on
the taskbar. This just happened after months of no problems.

Try this from any application say WORD 2003:

Tools, Options, VIEW,
[Check] Windows in Taskbar

Let us know if this worked.
