Minimized Word doc.reopens whenever I (re-)open another Word doc

Hi,

Whenever I boot-up a Windows session, the first MS Word document I
open is my Log.doc. Usually I keep it minimized. However, it seems
whenever I open any other Word doc., my Log doc. reopens, which
reduces my machine's performance. Is there any way I can defeat Log's
behavior?
