minimum row height in table

I have been unable to reduce the size of a table to fit the required area without removing rows. It appears that there may be a minimum row height which prevents me achieving my objective. I have tried removing the top and bottom margins in Cell Properties and reducing the font size but without success.
Any suggestions ?

You've done steps one and two which is changing the cell properties and
reducing the font size - anything below 4 doesn't seem to have any effect.
Deselecting 'grow to fit text' also helps. You didn't state how this table
is being used and whether or not it will need to be modified in the future.
If this is a single use and once done, it won't be modified you can also try
this trick. Complete the table without concern for its size. Then copy the
table and paste special as a picture. You can then change it to a much
smaller size.

Select the entire table, reduce the line spacing from 1.0 to .75. That will
reduce the height of the table, or give you the ability to reduce the height
by about 25%. You should still be able to view all the contents of the
cells without things getting cut off at the top or bottom. I don't know how
much room you need, but if .75 is too much, you could try .8, .85, .9, and
see how it goes.

Ron,

I've been trying to figure this out for about two hours. I nearly had a
heart attack because some of my tables worked, others did not. I can't
believe it is as simple as hitting one button. THANK YOU SO
MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
