I heard about one guy who called the OEM and b*tched about his missing
Office CD. He was adamant that he didn't have it and never received it.
When they looked his order up they saw that he picked the disks up. He
thought about it for half a moment and asked, "I wonder if that's that CD
that won't play in my car's CD player?"
(I got this story directly from the woman who he was screaming at.)

I would imagine, and have heard , that most households have at least one
drawer in the house that contains all kinds of things, mostly useless..
an example might be a coupon for 50c off of Tide washing liquid that
expired two years ago..
It comes as a surprise to me that the coupon is kept safe, yet a CD that
has a $300 worth is misplaced.. you are not the first to lose such an
item, and will not be the last..
Unfortunately, there is no legal way of downloading your software
(perhaps if you had an MSDN subscription) legally.. unless you find the
migrant CD, you will have to purchase MS Office in some form, or
download something like Star Office or Open Office..
