Missing 511167.MAINSP3op.msp (Word2000)

I'm missing 511167MAIN3op.msp
An error pops up every time I try to close Word.
I tried the "Detect and Repair" option but apparently I can't run that
either without the .msp file.
I also tried running setup.exe from CD but that didn't work either, and I
got the same error.
Please help. Send me a response here or at [email protected]. Thank
you in advance for your help.

Having the same problem. Upgraded Word, then had to remove
the Original MS WORKS program, but couldn't remove the
updates, then I wasn't able to re-install Works because of
this missing upgrade. It still shows up in the Add/Remove
programs. Can't locate it with the Search either.
Office.com explains the situation, and refers you to their
techical support, but the page referred to doesn't load.

The problem occurs when I open .ppt files through IE as well.
Also, my computer won't let me open the Powerpoint program.

If an installed .MSP (MS Patch file) has been
deleted you may need to use the MS Installer cleanup
utility, restart the PC then reinstall & reupdate.

Hi, I'm having this same problem, and Microsoft is telling me I have t
cough up some cash to get help, so I'm hoping someone can help m
here.

I'm also missing the 511167.MAINSP3op.msp file. I've gone to the lin
mentioned and attempted to download the MS Installer CleanUp Utility
but I keep getting an error on the download page telling me it "Canno
Find the Server," as if the page doesn't exist anymore. I've attempte
it at different times. I only have a dial-up connection, and haven'
been able to get real fast feeds lately (31.2 is the best), so I don'
know if that has anything to do with it. Anyway, it's frustrating
because my programs are all messed up and I just want to get the
uninstalled and reinstall them, but I can't even do that due to thi
one little missing file. Does anyone out there have just this on
particular file that they could send me, or could you send me th
CleanUp Utility? Any help would really be appreciated.
