Missing Data1.msi - how can I get it back?

I don't know what has happened to my MS Office 2000
program. It was working fine, then one day, it required
the CD to continue. It keeps telling me that the
Data1.MSI file is missing - any ideas how to fix this?

Make sure you are inserting the CD from the same version of Office that you
originally installed from. If you are, please post the exact message you are
receiving.

I am having a similar issue with a missing data1.msi file.

I have Office 2000 Pro, and Win XP Pro installed on a
home machine. While signed in under "administrator", I
am unable to install Security patches for "Word 2000"
KB830347, or "Excell 2000" KB830349. When asked, I
insert my Office 2000 SR-1 Pro disk (Same disk from
origional install). I then receive the following message.

"The path 'Microsoft Office 2000 Professional' cannot be
found. Verify that you have acess to this location and
try again, or try to find installation
package 'DATA1.MSI' in a folder from which you can
install the product Microsoft Office 2000 SR-1
Professional."
