Missing file SKU112.CAB in Office Professional 2003 Upgrade

I just purchased an HP Pavilion a1247 computer with MS Works 8 installed on
it, and the trial version of Office Student & Teacher. The operating system
is Windows XP Media Center Edition. I purchased Office Professional Edition
2003 Upgrade, because I have MS Works already installed on the machine, and
the software box states I am eligible.

Each time I start one of the programs (Excel, Word, etc.), I get an install
error because file SKU112.CAB is missing. I have searched for this hidden
file, but I can't find it. I've also seen that there have been other users on
non-MS sites that have had the same problem. How can I get this missing file?

Did you uninstall the Office 2003 trial version *before*
installing the Office 2003 Professional upgrade?

No, I just saved the Office 2003 trial version data in another directory. The
SKU112.CAB file isn't in this directory with the Office 2003 trial version,
either.

SKU112.CAB would be on the CD used to install the trial version,
and possibly on your hard drive's Local Install Source (see
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/830168/ ) for the trial version.

You could have avoided this problem altogether if you had
uninstalled the Office 2003 trial version before installing your
purchased version. As you already know, the qualifying product
for your Office 2003 Pro upgrade is Works 8, not the Office 2003
trial. At this point, I suggest that you uninstall the purchased
version, uninstall the trial version, and then reinstall the
purchased version.
