MIssing Files

G

Gene McKinney

Yesterday I went to open my FrontPage and there were no
files.

So I go back to the explorer and check to see if the files
are still on the hard drive, they were.

I go back into FrontPage and NO FILES.
Anybody got an answer PLEASE...

Yes, same as I always have.

I also went to check and see if any of my others sites
were like this, and, they worked fine.

One thing I did not say at the beginning. This problem
started when I move my this web site from my home
computer to my work computer.

How did you move the site between computers?

The best way to move FP web is via publishing between machines either
directly or by first publishing to a web host that has the FP extensions,
then open the site on the remote server in FP from the new computer and then
publishing it down to the new computer.

If that is not possible then you should Zip the entire web folder, then
write that to a CD, Zip or Flash Drive, then copy the Zip from the CD, etc.
to the new computer, unzip, then open in FP and if using PWS or IIS, publish
the web to it final location on the new computer via http//localhost or
http://localhost/webname.
