Missing Gridlines on converted XLS file

J

john

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help with this!
I just converted a Lotus spreadsheet to Excel. The data
and formats came thru fine, but I don't seem to get
gridlines (even if the Gridlines box is checked). I need
the gridlines for clarity.

Many Thanks

It might be that the cells are coloured white, which hides the gridlines
even with 'gridlines on'.
Have a look at Format / Cells / Pattern

Andy,

Thanks for your quick response! I have checked those
settings and they are in order. The problems persists, so
what I've done to keep this project moving forward is
good 'ole Select All/Copy/Paste into new sheets. This is
working for now.

What looks right and what is right may be two different things.
You want to make sure that you are using automatic for both
borders and patterns. You may find some more information
on my http://www.mvps.org/dmcritchie/excel/gridlines.htm
p[age. You also want to make sure that you have not checked
the print B&W on file, page setup, sheets.
