Missing Menu

I installed my 1st Office 2007 upgrade form office XP. What a shock! I
couldn’t even figure out how to open a new doc. I have been using Office
since 95. I searched for about a ½ hour to try to find a menu bar. After
getting on line to my disappointment it seems there is no provision to enable
the menu bar. I uninstalled 2007 and reinstalled Office XP. I can’t
believe MS could think this is a good thing. It may be a great thing for a
total new user but what about all the loyal past and current users? I was
hoping to upgrade our employee’s computers overtime with the 2007.

After this first look at 2007 it will be cost prohibitive to do any further
upgrades. Training and the learning curve to teach and offer user support
for our company would nothing but an impossible task. Please tell me MS is
planning a fix. If not, I guess its Corel Word Perfect suite in the future.

I have to disagree....I've used every version of Word and Office since
Office 95. I d/l and installed the beta when it came out before reading any
reviews of the new look and feel. It took me all of 30sec to one minute to
figure out that the big Office button was where it's all at regarding the
tasks found on the old menu bar, and the ribbon allows way easier access to
all the most commonly used functions. Of all the versions I've gone through
over the years, this one is a quantum leap forward in ease of use and power.
