Missing or broken reference to a file

Hello,

My company purchased visual source safe v. 6.0 to create
an access database on microsoft 200o. I am trying to run
the database on XP and everytime I try and open the
database, I get an error message saying: your microsoft
contains a missing or broken reference to the
file 'COMDLG032.03X' version 1.2.

We can't figure out with this file is!

Can anyone help? I would be os appreciative!

COMDLG32.OCX is an ActiveX control which is used in applications to allow
users to select files or folders. It does not "come with" Access, and that
is likely what is causing the error message. Probably, the original
database developer had this control on his or her computer (perhaps with an
installed copy of Visual Basic) and used it in the development of the
database; however, the control either does not exist on the computer you are
using or it is in a location different from that of the computer on which
the database was originally developed.

Versioning and licensing problems are very common with COMDLG32.OCX and when
there are questions about it in these Access news groups, the recommendation
is to delete the reference to this control and to use the code found at the
following link to perform file selection functions in your database:
