Hello,
Following complaints from several users about Outlook (XP SP2) freezing at
random times during the day, I have noticed that none of the users have
outcmd.dat file in their profiles, other than one or two who have had local
admin rights at one point or another. Taking one user as an example, I
searched for the file, did not find it, gave the user local admin, ran
Outlook again, and the outcmd.dat was then created.
I am wondering a) if this could be related to the mysterious locking up
episodes I have been seeing (99% CPU usage, hourglassing, "Not Responding")
and b)what could be the reason for the outcmd.dat file not being created
without local admin rights....the user has Full Control permissions on all
folders and subfolders within their profile...
Any suggestions or thoughts would be most welcome.
Thanks,
Chris Herbert
