Missing Outlook icon on desktop

I have a problem. I need to reset my outlook. this is
Microsofts guide how to reset it (more at bottom):

To reset Outlook to First-Run status, follow these steps:
Quit all programs.
Right-click the Outlook icon on your Desktop, and then
click Properties.

WARNING: The next step removes all mail account settings
from your system. You will need to know these settings in
order to reconfigure your mail account. You should click
the Properties button for each account and write down the
settings before you perform the next step.


Outlook Corporate or Workgoup (CW) users: click Show
Profiles. Click each profile and then click Remove until
you have removed all of your profile information. Click
Close to exit the Mail dialog box.
Outlook Internet Mail Only (IMO) users: click each mail
account and then click Remove until you have removed all
of your account information. Click Close to exit the
Internet Accounts dialog box.
On the Start menu, click Run, type regedit, and then
click OK.
Move to and select the following key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Microsoft/Office/9.0/Outlook/

In the Name list, select the FirstRunDialog key.
If you want to enable only the Welcome to Microsoft
Outlook greeting, click Modify on the Edit menu, type
True in the Value Data box, and then click OK.
If you also want to re-create all sample welcome items,
move to and select the following key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Microsoft/Office/9.0/Outlook/Se
tup

In the Name list, select and delete the following keys:
CreateWelcome First-Run

In the Confirm Value Delete dialog box, click Yes for
each entry.
On the Registry menu, click Exit.
When you start Outlook, the Welcome to Microsoft Outlook
greeting is displayed.

i only have a shortcut to outlook on my desktop and i
don't know how to get the "real" icon. and if i access
the properties of the outlook shortcut i will only get
the usual shortcut properties, and no "special" outlook
properties.

How will I fix it?
