Missing pictures and borders

I have 5 computers running Powerpoint 2003. Each of them display
presentations created and compressed in 2002 Powerpoint without a problem.
One computer, however, will not display graphics or pictures in the edit
mode. The thumbnails show everything as does the slide show. However, in
the mode where the thumbnails on shown on the left, no graphics are shown in
the bigger window on the right.

Have you applied Service Pack 1 to Office 2003 on that system?

Have you visited the video card manufacturer's site recently to check for an
updated driver?

Try turning down hardware acceleration.

I have applied SP1. We are a new office and each of the Dell computers are
brand new and all are working well except this machine.

Does this happen with all presentations? You say that the graphics don't show,
but does text show up?

T

Tom

Yes, it happens with all presentations. When I am in the normal view with
the thumbnails displayed on the left. All of the images are shown in the
thumbnails, but not in the large window. All of these presentations were
prepared in Office 2000.

Sonia, I also swapped the physical monitor from one of the other computers
and that is not the problem.

None of the graphics show in the main "normal" view window. However, they do
show in the thumbnail view down the left side of the screen. Nope, no red
Xs. What's funny is that all pictures and graphics show up just fine in Word.

Sonia

Did you try this in Safe Mode, as "lost" suggested? Do you have any text on
those slides? If so, does it show up?

T

Tom

Sonia,

Have not tried the Safe Mode, but will this morning. Yes, text is the only
thing that shows up on the slides. The graphics and pictures show up on the
left side in the thumbnail view and also everything works fine in Word. Only
in this mode of Powerpoint is this happening
