Missing "saved mail" information in folders

I have several folders with saved mail that are missing all of the subject,
date, and size information. I can tell the emails are still there because
each has a blank line, but the dates are all listed as "none" and all other
fields are blank.

I have checked the view options and they are all correct and set to show all
mail. Also verified the date on the computer and in Outlook. I can still send
and receive mail.

Mail is sorted by date and there are only two sections currently showing;
"Beyond Next Month" and "none". I have also tried sorting by From and To with
no change in the display.

I am running WinXP Pro SP2 with Outlook Pro 2003 SP3. Symantec AntiVirus
Full version 10.1.7.700

Everything was working fine this morning. I have made no system changes and
no changes to any options in Outlook. I just clicked on one of the other
folders listed under my Exchange account and my mail was no longer showing.
Just a line for each of the mail that should have been there. I rebooted
system and the initial folders that were not showing anything now have the
mail back the way it should be listed, but other folders are now showing just
a blank line with the date as "none" for each mail that should be listed. I
am not over the limit on my account size and have rebuilt the mail account
profile with no resolution. All of the folders with problems are resident on
the mail server. I am also connected to a local PST file and all folders and
email located there appear to be fine.

Any help is appreciated!!!

Yes, I reset the view in each folder with problems. I changed it to show the
last seven days and then back to all messages. There was no change in what
was being displayed.

I did find a work around. I moved the folders with problems to the local pst
file. All of the missing mail data repopulated correctly. I'll just work with
it from there.

Thanks again for the help!

That, of course, does not reset the view.

Then I am not understanding what needs to occur to reset the view. Please
explain.

View>Arrange By>Current View>Customize Current View>Reset Current View.
Alternatively, reset all views at once by starting Outlook with the
/cleanviews command switch.

It seems the Exchange server just stopped working for no apparent reason
yesterday about noon. After the server was restarted, all mail for all
persons at our location seems to be working correctly. The system seems to be
stable. I think this issue resolved itself with the reboot of the server.

I am still curious as to what the initial cause was, but that will be
research for another day.

Thank you all for your help.
