I somehow lost my Design View Control shortcut menu for both reports and
forms in Access 2000 on my office PC. That's the menu that comes up when you
right-click a control in design view. It has such items as Change To... for
changing a textbox to a combobox, back fill, etc.
I opened the Customize dialog and selected the shortcuts. The Design View
Control menu is there (both form and report), but it won't expand, and I
can't add any items to it.
I tried doing a detect and repair. I tried uninstalling Access and
reinstalling it. I even deleted the Office setup files, thinking they may be
causing the failure for the detect and repair.
No problem, I thought. I installed Office 2003, keeping Access 2000 for
creating 2000 MDEs. But low and behold, the shorcut menu is missing in 2003,
too!
I even brought all the wizard files from home and used them to over-write
the existing ones, thinking they were bad.
I'm guessing there must be something wrong in the set up or registry, but I
have no idea where to look.
