Missing something with subwebs

I built my site and published all OK complete with shared borders and
navigation. Then I built a similar site in another language complete with
shared borders and navigation in the additional language but am unable to
publish. My hosting company claim they support subwebs and have told me which
folder to load into but without success. Frontpage only seems to load into
the main folder which then requires a virtual rebuild of the navigation
structure and borders. I also tried removing Frontpage extensions from the
main site, loading with FTP and then replacing the extensions, probably not
the way to go but still the same result. Any assistance would be greatly
appreciated.

The live/remote site must have the FP extensions (subwebs are a function of the extensions) and you
must publish via File Menu | Publish Web / Site using http://www.domainname.com/subwebname

The remote site has Front Page extensions installed, and trying that seems to
get closer but the remote site keeps rejecting my password. I remember this
when we loaded the original site but cannot remember the fix we used.

It's possible that the FP extensions have been corrupted from removing and
then re-installing them. My host claims that after extensions have been
removed from a site many problems are taken out of the picture if the site
is cleaned off, the extensions are re-installed and the web published fresh.
