missing symbol 'bullets' | PPT 2007

forum.query

Recently upgraded from 2003 -> 2007. All seems fine - even managing to
find my away around the ribbon.

One thing that has 'shown up' as a problem is that when I try to
create a bulletted list, using symbols, only the filled and hollow
symbols are visible - nothing else. If I pull up the 'bullets and
numbering' window, I see 'None', solid, and empty circles, then
nothing else. If I hold the cursor over each of the remaining 5
sections, the tooltip correctly reports what *should" be there (e.g.,
the one to the right of 'hollow round bullets' correctly reports
'filled square bullets', but said bullets are not visible, and don't
show up in the slide if I select it.

Also, if I try to select a custom symbol (using customize), they don't
show up either.

I haven't changed printer drivers, and the video driver (nVidia) is as
current as it comes. While I rarely use anything other than 'filled
round bullets', I'd like to on occasion, but at present, its
completely broken.

Short of a re-install (which I'm loathe to do), any suggestions?

Thanks!
