Missing Word in All Programs List

Hello Everyone,

I recently installed Office XP on a Windows XP
macine. The installation went fine and all the office
applications appeared in the all programs listing. I
created shortcuts for Word and Excel and moved them to my
desktop. A few days later Word and Excel disappear from
the all programs listing. I uninstalled and reinstalled
and the same thing happened. This only happened to Word
and Excel, the other applications are still in the all
programs listing (of course I didn't create shortcuts for
them). I found an article in Microsoft's knowledge base
(OFFXP: Shortcuts Are Not Created After You Install Office
XP) but this implies it happens immediately, not a few
days later as in my case. Bottom line: 1. Has anyone else
experienced this and found a solution? 2. How do you add a
program to the all programs list (without reinstalling)?

You can create shortcuts (or copy the desktop ones) and add them to the
Start Menu folder or any subfolder of it. I don't have Windows XP, so the
folder hierarchy may be a bit different, but in Windows 2000 the path is
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu. For Programs, it is
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs.
