Mixup with Cuteftp & Server extensions /_vti_cnf

M

Michael Hoeben

Hi again
I have reviewed some of the previous posts regarding Server extensions, but
I cannot see an answer that relates to mine.
I have been using FP2000 for some time but one of my domains does not have
Server extensions, so I have been uploading the files using cuteftp which is
messy :-(
I now discovered that I can upload using ftp from within FP which then gives
more control over what is actually uploaded.

My question is;
I have somehow (accidentally or on purpose) uploaded to a _vti_cnf and
_derived directory on my server. Can I safely delete those directories from
the server since it does not use the extensions?

Do I also need to delete them from my web folder on my pc?

Thanks
Michael

You can delete the _vti folder but you need the _derived folder in using FP navigation

You can delete the _vti_cnf folder. _derived is in use even without the
extensions.
