I purchased MS Office Pro in 2002 and installed it on my computer. Is there
a way to move the whole application to my newer window xp computer? I do not
have the Program disc anymore but I do have my key #

I believe MS can provide replacement discs for a nominal fee. I've never
done it so I don't know how much proof they need or if they require your
first-born. And I'm not sure if that applies to out-of-date versions.

But since you know your product key, if you can borrow someone else's disc,
you can install it that way. You might want to keep better track of your
discs...it makes re-installing much easier ;-)

Also, if both PCs can/will be used simultaneously, you really need to
purchase a new Office license per the EULA.

Assuming that you have the retail edition of Office Pro 2002, you just
need to uninstall it from the old PC and install it on the new. As to
the disc, you should be able to get a replacement CD. Check out

Since you have the product key, if you know of someone else that has
the Office Pro 2002 CD, you can also use their CD with your product
key.

They would (will?) replace the disks for a retail version of Office 2002
only, not OEM. No first-borns are required, the verify the validity of the
key, take your shipping information, charge card number and say thank you.

The only question I has is whether they are still replacing that version now
that 2007 has been released.

Thank you very much.. I beleive you both are correct! I called MS about a
year ago and I was told MS does not support any version over two yrs old. I
ran accross this forum and thought there might be a whiz out there who might
know of a solution. Thanks so much for your help and reply!!

I'm not talking about "support", I'm talking about sending me new CDs. I had
to replace my XP version last year, prior to 2007 being released. It's a
free phone call - worth trying, ya know.

MS no longer provides support for Office XP and earlier.
Your only real choices are to buy a newer version, or to search on eBay for
a disc., If you decide to go the eBay rout, make sure that you are buying a
legitimate OEM or Retail disc, not a hacked disk or a copy.

In the future, you should get in the habit of properly caring for and
storing the
software you buy. It will be cheaper than having to rebuy it every time you
need to
re-install.

I have the owner's manual, so "support" was not the problem, it could be I
did not make my problem to the Rep as to what I was needing?? However, I
hardly conveyed the fact my problem regarded the MS Office PRO 2002 version (
original cost over $529,00) and right off the start the Rep insisted they did
not even have a 2002 version available so, there was no way MS could help me.
Really this was 2005 and MS had destoryed all copies of the 2002 version...I
don't think so!! I would very much appreciate any particular MS site you
might recommend I contact for help!! Anyway, I see you are very busy helping
many of the problems people ask on this discussion board and I know we all
thank you very for the help you offer! Wayne

the one I bought and you are very correct, I do need to take better care of
the program disks I have! Any specially product you know of that is is made
for storing disks? Anyway thanks a lot!

I suspect that you may not have made your problem clear to the rep. I don't
know where you are located but this information is what I have saved:
