Mobile Device synchronization wtih Outlook 2007 in Vista Business

Error message: "Synchronization cannot be completed because Microsoft Outlook
cannot open the Task folder. Close outlook and then start Outlook again.
Once Outlook is running, dicsonnect your mobile device and reconnect. If the
problem persists, reinstall Outlook."
It persists, despite reinstalling Outlook, Mobile Device Centre for Vista,
even Vista itself. Pocket PC device is running Windows Mobile Device 2003
2nd Edition V4.21.1088 Build 14235.2.0.0
Extensive searches of the MS knowledge Base give no satisfation.
Microsoft want me to pay for contact support.
I just want to be able to sync after a twom onth delay. Any help?
