Mobile Phone Numbers displayed in Outlook 2003

Is there a way to change how mobile phone numbers are displayed in Contacts
for Outlook 2003? I would like to show them as e.g. 0409999999 or
0409-999-999 rather than +61 (04) 0999-9999. Is this possible to do, please?

Thanks for your response. What a user "unfriendly" thing for Microsoft to
do. It would have been good to have the flexibility to do this so that
numbers appear in a format that is commonly used here (apart from the
functionality it may give when dialling although I've not tried that just
yet) especially when it was possible in previous versions of Outlook. I
wrongly assumed that new versions were an improvement on previous versions.

Masking of phone numbers in Outlook is hard coded.

go to Contacts, under Action Menu, Call Contact, New Call, Dialing
Properties, and enter an Area Code of 1

this gets rid of those automatic parenthesis
