Modem always starts dialing when open Word documents

Every time I open a Word document my modem insists on
making a connection to the internet. Does anyone have any
ideas on how to avoid this situation?

Hi,

Open your IE, go to Tools/Internet options/ Connections
and make sure you select Never Dial a connection

I've been having exact same problem with Word for about a
week, and frequently Word asks if you want to start in
Safe mode. Dial-up connection also kicks in every time I
reboot and get to the desktop. Any solutions yet?
