Modem disconnects

Why does my modem disconnect from the server immediately
after Outlook Express finishes receiving mail?

Ask in an Outlook Express forum. This is an Microsoft Office Outlook forum.

Outlook Express is family of Internet Explorer and Outlook of the Office

Click on Tools, then Options, Connections.

You should see a box labelled "Hang up after sending and receiving". Remove
the check (tick).

That is how it works in Outlook Express 6. Other versions may be a bit
different but along the same lines.
