Hi Dale,
I have the following problem:
1) I start with a blank project plan with a file
name "template.mpp". The plan has some default task
names, column names, embedded macros, etc., specific to
our organization
2) I intended to have users make a copy of the template
and rename it, then upload it to the server
3) however, when they upload it, then view their new
project from project view, the task on line 0 of the
project still says "template". It should have the
modified name of the plan.
I believe this is related to the problem you discussed
here below. However, when I got to step 8, the option you
mentioned was grayed out. I tried to solve this by
creating an enterprise account, but when I closed out and
logged on with the newly created enterprise account, I got
a message saying that I was unable to connect. Of the
possible problems listed, the most likely cause was a lack
of an enterprise global template.
Furthermore, when I try "Tools >>> enterprise Options >>>
Restore Enterprise Global" I get a message saying that the
action cannot be reversed. Thus I am wary of restoring
the template until I fully understand the implications
(since several projects are already using the server).
Can you give some advice?
And if there is a simpler workaround/solution available
for renaming a project (that doesn't require enterprise
features), please let me know. It seems like the more
features I am required to use to accomplish a desired
task, the more likely I am of screwing something up, so
simpler is better
