Modifiying an Access 97 db in Access XP

Adam

Hi All,

I've trying to work on an Access 97 database using Access XP but not having
much luck.

Is it possible?

If so how?

I also have Access 2003 it that does it as well. Just prefer Office XP though.

Adam, what most of us do is keep a copy of Access 97 installed, and do any
maintenance work on the old version in the correct program.

Not sure what you find better about Office XP though. Access 2003 is much
more stable than Access 2002, and the help is considerably improved - still
not as good as A97, but much better than A2002. So if set your macro
security to low to get rid of those nonsense warnings at startup, and
configure it (turn off Name AutoCorrect, avoid subforms where the
LinkChildFields has not text box in the subform, stay away from the problem
subqueries, ...), A2003 is arguably the most stable version of Access ever
released as far as a development platform goes.
