modify length of sound clip

How do I modify the length of a sound clip used in Power Point? Such as a
chicken clucking for 14 seconds I need to reduce the sound down to 6 seconds.

If you want to remove the extra 8 seconds, you can add a stop effect in
custom animation after 6 seconds.

If you meant speeding up the sound, you will need to edit it in sound
editing programme like audicity.
