mp3 playing time

I insert an 8-second mp3 clip (duration from Windows Explorer) into a
PowerPoint Slide. It cuts off at 6 seconds. In the Sound Options box, it
says : "Total Playing Time 00:06" ! Please tell me how to correct that
mis-info. Thank You.
