Modify Normal Template

I can't find the normal.dot template in my Word 2007 program. So I
tried setting up a default file that automatically opens when Word
starts, but it won't open, even though I think I have it in the right
directory (a "startup" directory).

I am using Windows 7.

C:\Documents and Settings\user name\Application Data\Microsoft\Templates.

Google "location normal.dot word 2007" without the quotes.

You can also change Normal.dot by selecting the little tiny box at the
extreme right of any ribbon section and selecting the "default" button at
the bottom of whatever opens. It will ask if you want to do this.
