Modify permission without Delete.. is this possible Office Docs

Nuce

I'm trying to give users the ability to modify Office documents but at the
same time don't give the the ability to delete documents.... All I have read
say I can't because of the Temp file issues. Is there a way around this???

Thought about that.... wanted a less user involved solution... Want to use
permissions to accomplish this if possible

Well if you set the permissions to prevent delete then you prevent
deleting tempfiles. You answered your own question about the
permissions, I just gave you a work around.

Hi Nuce,

The 'copy to local' feature is built into Word 2003 as a setting in
Tools=>Options. In 2007 the product detects the network drives and should do this on its own, but Word still does work by replacing
a temporary working copy of its file with the final one then renaming.
