Modifying a From address

L

Laura

Hi everyone,

Thank you in advance for your assistance. I am interested
in creating a new message, but on a single message at a
time modifying the from and reply to. In other words, my
boss would like me to be able to send a message and have
it appear to be from him. Though I won't have access to
his email account itself. Any help appreciated. Thanks
again.

Create a new message. Then from the View menu, select
From field. Now you'll have a From button similar to the
To button. Click the From button, and select the person
whose name you want to appear in that field.

I don't appear to have that option on my View menu.

There was another method metioned somewhere else, that I
also don't seem to be able to use. Perhaps my version
doesn't give my any option for this?

Thanks.

If you have Word enabled as your e-mail editor, the From: field is not
displayed in the view menu. Disable Wordmail to verify this please.

As far as the requirements for Send As rights, please refer to the
following:

281208 XADM: How to Grant a User "Send As"
Rights in Exchange Server 5.5 and http://support.microsoft.com/?id=281208

Hope that helps!!

Even without Word as my editor, From is not an option on
the View menu. My About tells me it's Outlook 2000, but
it doesn't appear to have all the functionality described
for that version. Oh well.

Thank you.

Under Help | About does it show you are running in Internet Mail Only , or
Corporate/Workgroup mode ?
If you are running in IMO mode, then you most likely are not connected to an
Exchange server, and would not be able to use the Send As permissions
required for this functionality.
