Modifying Templates/importing new styles

I've been creating Styles for use in documents. For example "MyStyle1" for
use in document A. But when I open document B, "MyStyle1" isn't available.
I've tried clicking on "organize..." in the Style menu, and copying
"MyStyle1" into the Normal template. But this doesn't work (at least, my
new Style isn't available in a different document). Anyone got any tips?

Also, anyone have a link to a FAQ or something on how to create new
templates? The MS help files in Word itself are not particularly helpful,
IMO.

When you create the style, be sure you check the "Add to template" box to
make it available to new documents. If you will be creating a lot of new
styles, I'd advise creating a document template to store them in rather than
clutter Normal.dot. You may also find (though again I would not advise doing
it in Normal.dot) that it is more efficient to modify the built-in styles
rather than create new ones.
