Hello,

Sorry for the double post but I got no response from the other group I
posted this message to.

I have been asked to begin monitoring the outgoing e-mails of some of our
users. We are using Outlook 2003 and our e-mail is hosted by our ISP. Does
anyone out there have any ideas on how we can accomplish this with maybe a
rule or an add-on application?

Any help would be appreciated,

Hamilton

What kind of monitoring do you need to do? Do you just need to know if mail
arrive, when it arrives, etc.?
As far as I know the only tool Outlook really provides is the read
receipt/delivery receipt function.

Thanks Doug,

We need to monitor the actual messages being sent from Outlook, we are
trying to monitor intelectual property being sent out of the company. A copy
of all messages being sent would do it.

The only effective way of doing this would be some sort of agreement with
your ISP to have a copy of all messages submitted from your company be
delivered to a particular mailbox - anything else is easily circumvented.

Another option is Digital Rights Management (DRM), but that requires a DRM
server.

Of course it's all moot unless you've taken steps to ensure that people
can't walk out of their offices with either print-outs or floppy disks
containing the information...
