my site looks horrible on a larger monitor, i designed using a 17 inch, but
a 19inch, yuk.

is there any specific coding to have the page adjust to different
resolutions?

Use a table or Div set to a specific size and code inside of it.

Use a fluid design using CSS tableless design

There is definitely no code or quick fix for this issue. See Mike's reply.
