Monochrome printing only

I have just acquired a new iMac running Snow Leopard and Office (12.0) which has installed OK and seems to run well. The only problem is that it will only print in monochrome to my Xerox Phaser 6130. All my other apps. print in colour perfectly well. Have I missed a simple setting or is it something more complicated?

If you're still at a base installation of Office 2008 (12.0) you are lacking
several major updates. That may very well account for the problem.

In any Office app go to Help> Check for Updates. You need to apply SP1
(12.1.0), SP2 (12.2.0) plus the latest interim update (12.2.1). I'd
recommend that you follow the suggestions on this page:

Thank you for your reply. As you say, my version was 12.00 but I have now installed the three updates. However this has made no difference to the monochrome printing problem; it still does it.

I can get round it by saving the file as a pdf and this prints OK in colour but it is a bit of a pain doing it this way.

Any more suggestions?

Then I believe your next stop may be the Xerox web site... According to the
list of print drivers supplied with Snow Leopard there wasn't one for the
Phaser 6130:

http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1370?viewlocale=en_US#xeroxdrivers

and I didn't see any indication of one later having been made available from
the Apple site. Perhaps they've recently released a new one.

Bob, you were right. It was the driver but interestingly enough the Xerox
site was way behind with its updates and I had to phone them several
times. In the end I downloaded v2 of the 6130N driver from the Apple
site and it seems to work fine.

Many thank for your help
