Per earlier post, I am trying to save 'out' production data from a
program called Solomon - basically (I think) this was /is an Access/Sql
based program.
We are updating to different application and I need to bring over ONLY
certain DATA.
When I did an ODBC link to the DB all the tables are present.
I linked the three or four tables and have my fields (these are the ones
I want to modify for LATER import into the new application)
When I 'tried' (earlier) to modify the data, if effected the ACTIVE
production DB - I had not saved my work so returning to 'original' state
was easy.
It was suggested to create a "make-table query" (I have Access 2000 and
2003 so I can use either to do this??) - I did a 'copy' of the query I
had (that linked the three important tables and fields within) - so
I made the "make-table query" from that.
NOW, when I go to OPEN that make-table, I get a WARNING that says...
"You are About to run a make-table query that will modify data in your
table." Are you sure you want to run this type of action query? -
I have not run it as I don't know if this means I am going to muck up
the real production data or not??? HELP. thanks.
